Additional Information

This drawing captures myself as a young girl undergoing a personal and cultural reconstruction. This idea is primarily explored through one of the oldest Slavic traditions – a head wreath. Made from grass and flowers, it signifies purity and maiden youth, while the red ribbon represents truth and sincerity. In Heritage, eucalyptus leaves have replaced traditional flowers, while an eastern rosella mirrors the colouring of Slavic ribbons. In Dreamtime stories, this bird is named as one of the first to have sung in Australia. It blesses the girl, invites her into a new world, and gives her the strength to begin again.

The paper I use is a beautiful French Cold Press Textured art paper with the sharp random texture and flexible nature that only cotton rag can give. This paper is a natural white designed for fine art reproduction. Printed on Epson 9900 using genuine Epson archival inks, this is designed to meet galleries and museum longevity requirements and respect the ISO 9706 standard. This Textured Cotton Rag is certified acid-free and contains no optical brightening agents to ensure consistency of shades for generations.

The print is unframed, rolled and placed in a cardboard tube for transport .
